Connected Glossary

Corvex Connected Worker™ Platform

The main application that resides in the cloud environment.

Microsensor

A miniature electronic device that detects information about a specific variable such as temperature, light, proximity, or on/off.

Internet of Things (IoT)

The interconnection via the Internet of computing devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send and receive data.

Corvex Gateway

A physical device that collects information from the mobile (PPE) safety devices and communicates with the Cloud.

Connection

Wireless and wired networks that allow data exchange between a sender and receiver.

The Cloud

Information is stored and accessed using the internet instead of on a hard drive.

Zone Beacon

A battery-operated device capable of receiving and sending data. Battery-operated Bluetooth Beacons that work with the mobile safety device to establish a worker’s location within a zone.

Mobile Safety Device

Similar to a smartphone, the mobile safety device operates like a mini computer with a touchscreen interface and is capable of running software applications. This is a worker-worn mobile device that operates much like a cell phone running an Android operating system that is restricted to the Corvex Connected Safety application.

System Dashboard

This is the application management tool that allows admin-level users functionality including (but not limited to): defining zone and worker safety requirements, linking training information and providing analytical safety data in real-time.

Corvex Core

Worker-powered safety device that runs the Corvex Connected Safety application and communicates with the gateway.

Corvex ID

Beacons that are attached to or embedded in PPE. These beacons communicate with the Core device.

Corvex Sense

Same as Corvex ID with an additional sensor that can be seen by Corvex Core for automatic sensing.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Refers to protective clothing, helmets, goggles, footwear, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer’s body from injury or infection.

Certifications

An official document, training or educational milestone that attests to a status or level of achievement or knowledge and capabilities.
